Crazy For Good
Coca-Cola’s Crazy For Good campaign was inherently about sharing joy and happiness, while encouraging people to do small things in their everyday lives to make someone smile and ease the pressures of the world in their own small way. The brand wanted to inspire a ‘pay-it-forward’ mentality. The campaign included three elements:
The Shout Something Nice Podium
Podiums equipped with a loudhailer and signage inviting people to “Shout Something Nice”, were placed in strategic public locations: Hobie Beach in Port Elizabeth, the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, Ballito Beach near Durban and Maponya Mall in Soweto.
The Poncho Handout
The Poncho Handout saw a team of trained promoters hit the streets of Johannesburg with 1000 ponchos in hand, on an afternoon when the heavens were set to unleash a rainstorm. The team was tasked with “giving happiness away”, and the film crew was tasked with capturing the happiness that people experienced upon being handed a poncho against the rain. The footage also showed how the town was literally painted red, thanks to our ponchos!
The Swing For Happiness Project
The Swing For Happiness element of this campaign saw 150 swings going up overnight in numerous locations in three different cities.
In addition to these elements of the activation, we also produced a toolkit of elements for bottlers to use, as they participated in the broader Crazy For Good campaign.
